Seminar on research excellence and collaboration

On May 28th, 2018 the Faculty of Theology and CRS invited researchers to a seminar on innovative collaborative research projects between academia and the public and private sectors.

These collaborations do not only involve partnerships aiming at developing business ideas or starting companies, but include all kinds of innovative collaboration bringing together academics and other actors in society, around areas of common interest from, for example, developing new forms of sustainability to innovative pedagogic forms.

While presenting examples of past or ongoing collaboration, the aim of the seminar was to encourage a reflection on potential new research projects. Many original ideas were highlighted from the possibility of new forms of publications and workshops to the creation a “research bus”. The latter would consist of teams of researchers from Uppsala University visiting other academic and non-academic partners in order to stimulate new synergies for innovative research.

The University encourages the creation of new constellations of researchers and networks for multidisciplinary and collaborative research, and there is support available through the university office UU Innovation for researchers through financing for workshops, advice and support and activities such as matchmaking events. There is also much helpful information, resources and advice for the researcher from the humanities or social sciences looking to increase collaboration in his or her research available at:
